CNC Programmer and Operator Job Description This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced CNC machinery to produce high-quality metal components for industries such as mining, aerospace, and maritime. You will be responsible for preparing and setting up CNC machines, ensuring efficient and precise production runs of large, one-off parts. Responsibilities Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC machining equipment, including CNC lathes and milling machines. Program CNC machines using G-code to meet detailed blueprints and engineering requirements. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings for accurate machining processes. Perform manual machining tasks such as turning on lathes or grinding with grinders as needed. Troubleshoot machine issues, perform routine maintenance, and optimize machining performance. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols. Operate hand tools, power tools, tooling equipment, and a 100-ton crane safely. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer. 7+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist. 3+ years of experience in blueprint reading. Additional Skills & Qualifications Overhead crane experience is preferred. Proven experience as a CNC Set Up Operator. Basic math skills for calculating machining parameters. Ability to operate forklifts and power tools safely. Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity. Ability to lift 50lbs regularly. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is a first shift role, from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime. The work environment is a small shop with five employees and new machines. Training will be provided for overhead crane operation, starting with smaller parts during the training process. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
