Light Industrial / Aerospace Manufacturing & Maintenance Job Summary We are seeking experienced Sheet Metal / LO Coater Technicians to support aerospace operations at Tyndall AFB . These positions will primarily focus on LO (Low Observable) restoration and aircraft modifications , requiring strong attention to detail, precision workmanship, and the ability to interpret aircraft technical documentation. Technicians will perform sheet metal fabrication, aircraft structural repairs, bonding operations, and related assembly work while following applicable engineering drawings, technical manuals, and safety procedures. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret aircraft engineering drawings, technical manuals, Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), and technical orders. Interpret engineering symbols, flags, general notes, and other technical documentation. Identify aircraft locations using station, butt-line, and waterline references. Use precision measuring instruments, including: Micrometers Calipers Tape measures Standard scales Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including: Drills Angle motors Shears Drill presses Pneumatic riveters Fabricate aircraft detail parts such as: Shims Splices Gussets Angles Brackets Doublers Stiffeners Patches Perform trimming, filing, drilling, riveting, reforming, fitting, and deburring operations. Fabricate shims, brackets, plates, and other components as required. Perform bonding of aircraft parts, assemblies, and materials on complete and incomplete aircraft. Complete bonding operations when established methods, tooling, or complete technical information may not be readily available. Determine efficient fabrication and assembly methods while maintaining required dimensions, contours, edge distances, and fit. Lay out and locate parts and materials for precise installation and assembly. Verify installed materials and completed work for conformity with applicable specifications. Determine materials and estimated time required to complete repairs. Remove, modify, and reinstall components when required due to design or modification changes. Set up and operate various material testers and mixers. Develop and improvise shop aids to support fabrication, bonding, application, and assembly operations. Record technical data and procedural information for future use. Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free work area. Follow all applicable safety procedures and work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. LO / Low Observable Work The majority of this position will involve LO restoration work and aircraft modifications . Technicians must be comfortable working in environments requiring strict attention to process control, cleanliness, precision, and material handling. Daily work may require the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including: Full-face respirators Tyvek suits Protective gloves Other required protective equipment Qualifications Experience in aircraft sheet metal, structural repair, LO restoration, aircraft modification, or a related aerospace field . Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and aircraft maintenance documentation. Experience using precision measuring equipment and aircraft sheet metal tools. Strong understanding of aircraft fabrication, assembly, fitting, and repair processes. Ability to perform detailed work while maintaining tight tolerances and quality requirements. Ability to safely work with required PPE, including respirators and protective suits. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, FOD-free work environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production or aircraft maintenance environment. Work Environment This is a hands-on aerospace position supporting aircraft restoration and modification activities at Tyndall AFB . The work requires precision, attention to detail, adherence to technical requirements, and consistent compliance with safety and PPE procedures. #IND1
