About the Company Universal Painting Corporation / Universal Industrial Painting is a privately held company and one of the oldest specialty painting contractors under the same management and ownership. The company specializes in coatings for water and wastewater facilities. Position Summary The Painter/Blaster is responsible for completing assigned work orders safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract specifications. This role is expected to consistently meet or exceed company standards for quality, safety, and performance. Key Responsibilities Execute all project tasks accurately and in accordance with job specifications Prepare surfaces and materials for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and priming Apply coatings using brushes, rollers, airless spray systems, and pneumatic spray equipment Perform sandblasting and other surface preparation techniques as required Mix paints, coatings, and hardeners according to manufacturer specifications Operate and maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials with care Work effectively in confined spaces and environments with limited lighting Perform work safely in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain Travel to job sites (up to 50%), including overnight or extended stays Identify and report additional work or "extras" to supervisors for approval Follow all safety protocols, including attending required training and "Tool Box Talks" Complete required health screenings (e.g., drug and pulmonary testing) Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently Ability to climb up to 50 feet Capable of prolonged standing, bending, stooping, crawling, and pulling Comfortable working in confined spaces Qualifications General knowledge of painting, coatings, and sandblasting processes Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong work ethic, professionalism, and attention to detail Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to meet deadlines and follow schedules Willingness to attend required training sessions, including those held after hours

$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
