What you'll do Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: Surface Preparation
- Sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning surfaces before painting. Paint Mixing & Matching
- Mixing paints to achieve exact color matches using formulas and spectrophotometers. Spray Gun Operation
- Using spray guns and other tools for even and precise paint application. Paint Application Techniques
- Applying base coats, clear coats, and Tutone finishes Drying & Curing Processes
- Understanding drying times, heat lamps, and baking booths Buffing & Polishing
- Removing imperfections, sanding, and polishing painted surfaces. Body Damage Repair
- Repairing dents, and scratches and body defects before painting. Knowledge of Paint Types
- Familiarity with solvent-based and water-based paint Flexibility
- Working on the production line and in the paint rework areas Quality standards
- Understands quality standards for all paint defects and can repair all defects to target specifications

Daily Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. What you'll bring We expect all Scouts to have integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, and strive to exhibit a positive attitude, as well as a growth mindset. You'll be comfortable with change and flexible in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You'll take a collaborative approach to achieve ambitious goals. Here's what else you'll bring: 4+ years of experience painting vehicles in an automotive collision repair or OEM production environment. Proficient in prepping including sanding, masking, and priming. Experience utilizing color management software using paint scales and computerized color mixing. Proficient in spray gun operation and paint application techniques. Strong knowledge of drying and curing processes, adhesion characteristics, and paint layering systems. Experience in buffing and polishing to meet quality standards. Capable of performing minor scratch and dent repairs. Strong commitment to safety protocols, actively contributing to a safe work environment, and adhering to all company and industry safety regulations. Demonstrated ability to support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance work processes and reduce material waste. Clear and respectful communicator with peers, leads, and supervisors, promoting effective two-way communication on the production floor. Maintains a high level of professionalism and integrity, consistently following company policies and taking accountability for work quality and conduct. Willingness to work any shift, including nights and weekends, and overtime when required. Must be willing to train others and share technical knowledge with the team. Vocational School Certificate in Paint Repair or Collision Repair preferred. I-CAR Refinish Technician Certification preferred.
