$25/hr Updated 08/28/2026 Job Description Overview $25/hr Job Summary An Aviation Paint Detailer is responsible for preparing, cleaning, and finishing aircraft surfaces to ensure high-quality paint applications and overall aesthetic standards. This role supports aircraft painting operations by performing detailed surface prep, polishing, and final finishing in compliance with aerospace quality and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and chemical treatment Perform paint detailing tasks such as buffing, polishing, and touch-ups on aircraft exteriors and interiors Remove contaminants, oxidation, and surface defects to ensure proper paint adhesion Assist painters with masking layouts and protection of sensitive components Inspect finished surfaces for defects, inconsistencies, or quality issues Maintain paint booths, tools, and equipment in accordance with safety and compliance standards Follow all OSHA and FAA guidelines related to hazardous materials and aircraft finishing Document work performed and ensure adherence to work orders and technical specifications Required Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of aircraft paint processes, surface prep, and finishing techniques Experience with sanding, polishing, buffing compounds, and detailing tools Familiarity with corrosion control and prevention methods Ability to read and follow technical manuals and work instructions Strong attention to detail and quality control standards Basic understanding of safety procedures and PPE usage in a paint environment Preferred Qualifications 1-3 years of aviation, automotive, or industrial paint/detailing experience Experience with HVLP spray systems and aircraft coating systems Knowledge of composite and aluminum surface preparation
