Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by performing sanding, cleaning, and surface treatment in accordance with construction painting surface preparation standards. Operate spray guns, including hvlp Air assisted airless spray guns, to apply coatings evenly and efficiently on cabinetry and furniture components. Interpret production documents such as work orders, blueprints, and quality standards to ensure precise application of coatings. Handle materials safely using proper materials handling procedures while adhering to all personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, including respirator use and respiratory protection measures. Utilize hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, and precision measuring instruments to assist in surface preparation and assembly tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work area by following lean manufacturing principles, ensuring safety protocol adherence at all times. Conduct visual color comparisons and quality inspections throughout the finishing process to meet exacting standards. Qualifications Proven experience in industrial painting or construction painting surface preparation with knowledge of coating techniques such as conventional spraying, and airless paint spraying. Must have experience with spray stains and conversion varnish Familiarity with manufacturing processes including materials handling, assembly, and machining is preferred. Ability to interpret production documents accurately and follow detailed instructions diligently. Mechanical knowledge combined with basic math skills for measurements and calculations during surface preparation and coating application. Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus but not required. Strong commitment to safety practices including PPE use, respirator protocols, and adherence to safety guidelines in a manufacturing environment.
