About the Role As a Building Controls Field Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and efficiency of complex HVAC and building automation systems. You will be responsible for the end-to-end commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting of control networks, directly impacting building performance and client comfort. Responsibilities Lead the startup and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BAS) to ensure optimal system performance. Execute functional testing and sequence of operations validation to verify system reliability. Configure controllers and manage network programming using industry-standard software tools. Perform comprehensive system diagnostics, repairs, and warranty maintenance to resolve technical issues. Coordinate with on-site project teams to ensure equipment readiness and safety compliance. Document all commissioning results, maintain accurate as-built records, and manage project punch-lists. Provide expert technical training to end-users and support ongoing system upgrades. Qualifications Required Skills 5+ years of experience in HVAC controls startup, commissioning, and field service. Proficiency with BAS programming software, HMI/M2M interfaces, and Windows-based applications. Strong ability to interpret control prints, schematics, and project specifications. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights using ladders or lifts. Preferred Skills HVAC Journeyman Certification. EPA Refrigeration License. Experience coordinating multi-site field activities. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite for reporting and documentation.
