About the Role The BAS Controls Technician/Installer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, and optimization of advanced Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems across commercial and federal facilities. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain controls, sensors, and networks to the highest performance standards — taking end-to-end ownership of projects while supporting your team and our government clients. Travel Requirement This is a field-based role serving U.S. Army Reserve & Marine Corps Reserve sites throughout the Southeast United States. Candidates should be comfortable with regular travel, which may vary in frequency depending on project demands. Specific schedule and travel expectations will be covered during the interview process. Key Responsibilities System Performance & Installation Install, commission, and optimize advanced DDC systems, ensuring controls, sensors, and networks meet performance standards Build and wire BAS control panels in-field Mount control panels and wire in power using basic electrical tools Mount junction boxes and other electrical connection devices Install conduit and cabling management and support infrastructure using basic electrical tools Run and bend conduit as needed; follow wire and conduit run plans Label and pull wires from beginning to end Wire panels and devices with point-to-point (PTP) drawings Commissioning & Programming Implement startup, commissioning, and re-commissioning of customer systems utilizing pneumatic, electrical, and electronic technology Implement static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) commissioning of software programming Efficiently edit computer programs for building automation system points Load and configure building automation software, including trends, alarms, and system reports Set up operator workstations with all associated software Troubleshooting & Technical Problem Solving Use technical judgment to proactively solve automation challenges and mitigate project risks before they impact timelines Troubleshoot and repair building automation system panels, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers Troubleshoot and identify communication and network issues Learn to map and install transformer banks Responsible for calibration of systems using basic electronic test equipment such as multi-meters, network terminals, and/or a laptop computer Documentation & Project Management Read, review, and execute project-related documents including blueprints, drawings, project scope, budgets, deadlines, and sequences of operations Maintain accurate As-Built drawing packages and make changes in Visio, Excel, and Word as required Track and record job progress; keep lead project personnel and project management informed on progress and concerns Participate in project reviews to drive continuous improvement Continually enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued assets Leadership & Customer Relations Provide trust and leadership to your whole team as well as customers Translate technical project details clearly for customers Coordinate with Controls Manager and Project Managers to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs Learn from and support your field foremen Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 4+ years of professional experience in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, controls, or an applicable technical field Demonstrate basic-level aptitude as it relates to control systems Good written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of good customer service techniques; congenial personality and a helpful attitude Valid, current Driver's License; must be insurable by the company's insurance carrier Must pass a background check Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as squatting and climbing for extended periods Capable of working over 8 feet above grade; proficient in the use of ladders and motorized lift equipment Physical activities of standing, balancing, climbing stairs and ladders, walking, and lifting of 50 lbs or more required daily Use of torso and lower extremities required for kneeling, crawling, stooping, twisting, and squatting
Preferred Qualifications Project Ownership:
Demonstrated experience delivering turnkey solutions while independently managing increasing scope complexity and resources to meet all milestones
Technical Problem Solving:
Proactively identifies and resolves system issues using a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical plans
Software & Systems:
Proficient in loading and configuring building automation software, including trends, alarms, and system reports
Working Communication:
Clearly translates technical project details for customers and maintains disciplined documentation and safety standards
Quality & Improvement:
Anticipates customer needs and provides feedback on field tools and processes to drive operational efficiency and reliability Company-Sponsored Benefits Enviremedial Services, Inc. is an Employee Owned Company. Eligibility:
To become eligible to participate in the ESOP the employee must have attained the age of 21. An eligible employee who has worked at least 1,000 hours in a 12-month period beginning on their date of hire will become a "Participant" in the plan on the first January 1 or July 1 after the end of the 12-month period. Sick Pay:
Max accrual of 56 hours per year. Accrual begins immediately upon hire. Per Executive Order (EO) 13706, employees will accrue (earn) not less than one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked on or in connection with a covered contract, up to a maximum of fifty-six (56) hours. Enviremedial Services Inc. pays approximately 90% of Employee only coverage and competitive percentages of dependent coverage. Immediately upon hire, a fringe benefit of $5.09 per hour (for all regular time up to 40 hours per week worked on SCA Contracts) will be paid into a 401(k) in your name. Once health insurance selections become effective, the fringe benefit amount will change depending upon the level of insurance you select.
