Job Description
Pay:
$25•$35 per hour depending on experience and the type of lab being offered.Hours:
Monday•Friday 1:00 PM•6:00 PM Position Overview Learning Lab Leaders design and lead specialized enrichment sessions where students develop skills through hands-on learning and creative projects. Each lab focuses on a specific topic or craft and allows students to explore their interests in a structured, fun, and supportive environment. Possible Learning Lab Topics We are currently seeking instructors for labs such as: Hairstyling or Braiding Mechanics or Small Engine Repair Sewing or Fashion Design Cooking or Culinary Arts STEM and Engineering Robotics or Coding Art and Creative Design Graphic Arts or Digital Design Photography Podcasting or Media Production Drawing and Illustration Dance or Movement Theater or Performing Arts Athletic Skill Development Chess or Strategy Games Nail Design Book Clubs or Literacy Labs We welcome creative ideas for new labs as well. Learning Lab Proposal Requirement As part of the application process, applicants will be asked to submit a brief Learning Lab proposal outlining the session they would like to lead.The proposal should include:
The topic or skill you want to teach A short description of the activities or projects students will complete The age group the lab is designed for Any materials or supplies needed for the lab and cost This helps us ensure that each Learning Lab is engaging, well-structured, and a great experience for our students.Ideal Candidates Applicants should:
Have experience or strong knowledge in the skill they want to teach Enjoy working with children Be able to create engaging hands-on activities Maintain structure and positive behavior with students Supervise students safely during lab sessions Age Groups Labs may be designed for specific age groups depending on the skill: Rising Kindergarten•1st Grade Rising 2nd•3rd Grade Rising 4th Grade and Up Multi-age groups Middle School only Learning Lab Expectations Labs should include: Hands-on activities Skill development and practice Creative projects Student collaboration Clear expectations and structure Students will also have opportunities to showcase their learning, such as: Performances Project displays Cooking tastings Photography exhibits Robotics demonstrations Art showcases Materials Lab Leaders should identify materials needed for their lab. Materials may include tools, art supplies, equipment, sports gear, or cooking materials.Applicants should indicate whether materials:
Are already available Need to be purchased Could be donated Safety All Learning Lab Leaders must maintain a safe and supervised learning environment.
