Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler / Technician Job Description This role focuses on disassembling, cleaning, troubleshooting, rebuilding, and testing printer components to ensure they function correctly before being prepared for shipment. You will work with a variety of mechanical and electronic assemblies, follow established procedures and instructions, and contribute to a high-quality repair service that helps customers extend the life of their printers instead of replacing them. Responsibilities Disassemble printer parts and mechanical assemblies carefully and accurately. Clean mechanical components and assemblies to prepare them for inspection and reassembly. Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electronic components to identify faults and defects. Rebuild and reassemble printer components according to procedures, schematics, and blueprints. Test repaired and rebuilt parts to verify proper operation and performance. Prepare completed components and printers for shipping, ensuring they are properly packaged and labeled. Follow written procedures, work instructions, and schematics consistently and accurately. Perform quality checks at each step of the process to ensure high standards of workmanship. Use hand tools, power tools, crimping tools, and soldering equipment safely and effectively. Work independently to meet productivity expectations and daily production goals. Handle wiring, wire harnesses, and electronic assemblies as needed for printer repairs. Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and fit of components. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the production environment. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent workflow. Collaborate with team members and supervisors as needed to resolve technical or process issues. Essential Skills At least 6 months of experience using hand tools or power tools in a mechanical or light industrial setting. At least 6 months of experience working with blueprints or schematics. Mechanical aptitude, including the ability to build, disassemble, and reassemble products. Experience with mechanical assembly or production work. Ability to perform basic electronic assembly, including wiring and wire harness work. Ability to read and follow schematics, diagrams, and written instructions. Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electronic components. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality checks. Ability to work independently and remain productive with minimal supervision. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Comfort using hand tools, power tools, crimping tools, and soldering equipment. Ability to use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools. Mechanical abilities in a production setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with electronic assembly or electronics troubleshooting. Familiarity with wiring harnesses and related electronic components. Experience in light industry, production, or similar mechanical environments. Experience working with printers or similar electromechanical equipment. Comfort working from schematics, blueprints, and production documentation. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in a climate-controlled, quiet production environment surrounded by a large number of printers and related equipment. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering consistent daytime hours. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, crimping tools, tape measures, and other basic shop tools to perform mechanical and electronic assembly work. The environment is focused on testing and verifying printer components before shipment, with an emphasis on careful handling, precision, and adherence to procedures. Dress is typical for a light industrial and production setting, suitable for hands-on mechanical and electronic work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Stilwell, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
