The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling machinery and mechanical components in accordance with technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, precision, and the ability to work with a variety of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure machines are built to exact standards and operate efficiently. Duties & Responsibilities Machine & Equipment Assembly Assemble mechanical and electrical components and sub-assemblies using fastening, bolting, gluing, and other approved methods. Build machines and equipment according to assembly drawings, work orders, and engineering specifications. Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate assembly. Tool & Equipment Operation Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment including drills, presses, vises, saws, and wrenches to assemble, align, and install components. Quality Control Perform inspections and quality checks on assembled machines to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. Conduct functional testing to verify machine performance and operation. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues during the assembly process. Make necessary adjustments, corrections, or repairs as required. Component Installation Install machine components including control boxes, motors, switches, timers, thermostats, and related hardware. Collaboration Work closely with engineering, quality control, testing, and production teams to meet production schedules and quality requirements. Safety Compliance Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and handle tools and machinery safely. Documentation Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, materials used, and machine performance. Maintenance Support Assist in maintaining and repairing tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure efficient assembly operations. Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives. Required Skills & Abilities Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality. Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve during assembly. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or associate degree in a related field (e.g., mechanical engineering, industrial technology) preferred. Previous experience in machine assembly or a related manufacturing environment is highly preferred (1-3 years). Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods. Frequent and repetitive use of hands and arms, including gripping, holding, pressing, manipulating, and rotating wrists. Comfortable working with industrial machinery and tools. Exposure to elevated noise levels typical of a manufacturing environment.
