About Vallejo Electric Motor www.vallejomotor.com Vallejo Electric Motor (VEM) is a fast-growing, high-volume industrial electric motor and pump repair shop. In 2022, we relocated to a historic facility on Mare Island—formerly part of the nation's largest Naval shipyard. Utilizing 60-foot ceilings and heavy-duty overhead cranes, we repair medium to large motors and rotating equipment weighing up to 50 tons for local industries and municipalities. Job Summary VEM is looking for a bright, hardworking individual with a high mechanical aptitude and great attention to detail to train to become an electric motor winder/rewinder and mechanic. This is a fabulous opportunity to learn a valuable new trade in an exciting industry while also getting paid a competitive salary. In this position you will learn how to: If you are looking to make a career change, we will train an electrician, machinist, HVAC technician or individual with other relevant electrical, mechanical, or industrial experience or aptitude. We will also pay you a competitive wage while you learn! Typical work to be executed by a mechanic includes: Inspect, disassemble, repair and re-assemble industrial scale rotating equipment. Carefully investigate the operating conditions and troubleshoot equipment failures. Employ precision measuring tools such as inside and outside micrometers and dial indicators. Perform a variety of electrical tests utilizing specialized test equipment. Capture photos of disassembly and assembly processes. Produce detailed computerized inspection reports.
