Job Summary VEM is looking for a bright, hardworking individual with a high mechanical aptitude and great attention to detail to train to become an electric motor winder/rewinder and mechanic. In this position you will learn how to: If you are looking to make a career change, we will train an electrician, machinist, HVAC technician or individual with other relevant electrical, mechanical, or industrial experience or aptitude. We will also pay you a competitive wage while you learn! Typical work to be executed by a mechanic includes: Inspect, disassemble, repair and re-assemble industrial scale rotating equipment. Carefully investigate the operating conditions and troubleshoot equipment failures. Employ precision measuring tools such as inside and outside micrometers and dial indicators. Perform a variety of electrical tests utilizing specialized test equipment. Capture photos of disassembly and assembly processes. Produce detailed computerized inspection reports.
