SUMMARY OF

FUNCTIONSThe Assembler provides soldering and fabrication duties as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Populate and rework printed circuit boards (PCBs)
  • Perform mechanical assembly of chassis, cables, and harnesses.
  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, and engineering documents, as well as test and troubleshoot assembled products.
  • Work with Engineers on prototype designs/builds and help the team transition Mechanical Assemblies into Manufacturing.
  • Proactively identify and help address issues with appropriate groups to assure a smooth production scheduling/processing.
COMPETENCIES1.

Technical Skills (Able to read and interpret PCA Part Layout Drawings, CAD Mechanical Drawings).2. Familiar with NIST Quality Standards.3. Familiar with Windows Office Suite tools (Excel, Word, Power Point....).

RESPONSIBILITYThis position has no supervisory responsibility.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE1.

High school diploma or GED2. Ten (10) years minimum of practical experience.3. Formal training and experience in PCA and mechanical assembly.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE1.

Certification in IPC standards a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly seated (work-station/bench-type). The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently works with small objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.



WORK ENVIRONMENTThe job is performed indoors in a manufacturing lab setting. Activities include extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a bench.
