Machine Operator -Welder/Fabricator ( 1st Shift)

Job Description

Machine Operator - Welder/Fabricator (1st Shift)
Work Activities:
  • Read and understand blueprints, work instructions and processes.
  • Primary responsibility will be MIG welding steel
  • Sanding and cleaning of parts.
  • Setup of fixtures, reading assembly prints, and fitting of parts.
  • Be proficient in layout, tacking, welding, grinding, and finishing.
  • Follow written and oral instructions.
  • Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Responsible for 5S and cleanliness of designated work areas on a daily basis.
  • Perform safe work habits.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, climb and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Assist in Quality Control and Quality Inspection.
  • Participate in training for programming and operation of equipment.
  • Assist in Production activities as needed, including but not limited to operating fabrication machines.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.
Skills and Abilities:
  • MUST have a positive work attitude and be a part of a TEAM.
  • If you are reluctant to grow with the team do not apply.
  • Must have 3 years experience in a manufacturing MIG welder role.
  • Tig welding experience preferred.
  • Focus on quality of product and attention to detail.
Communication:
Read and understand work related materials.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, ability to prioritize work and reliability.
  • Basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, conversions of fractions and decimals.
  • Strong understanding in blueprint reading/weld symbols to accurately build products to specified tolerances.
  • Knowledge in use of measuring instruments and the application of such instruments.
  • Must be able to work both independently with little supervision and within a team-based environment to accomplish all aspects of welding and fabrication.
  • A firm knowledge with welding safety and OSHA requirements will be required.
  • Communicates with management, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve any quality issues.
  • Maintain equipment on a routine basis.
Hours:
40hrs/week Flexible Hours Occasional overtime
Pre-Employment:
  • Applicants will be expected to pass both written and hands on testing prior to employment.
Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Pay/Benefits:
