This vital role involves operating and setting up a variety of fabrication and machining equipment to produce high-quality metal components according to technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in machine operation, and a keen eye for precision measurement. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic production environment committed to safety, quality, and efficiency. Duties Operate and set up fabrication machinery such as press brakes, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, and stamping presses to produce metal parts in accordance with technical drawings and specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to ensure accurate fabrication. Utilize CNC programming skills for laser cutting, plasma cutting, and machining operations to optimize production processes. Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments for quality control and inspection purposes. Conduct routine maintenance on machines including CNC equipment, forming machines, and welding tools to ensure optimal performance. Follow safety protocols diligently while operating cranes, hand tools, and heavy machinery to maintain a safe work environment. Inspect finished products for adherence to quality standards through measurement and visual inspection; document findings accordingly. Assist with tooling setup and adjustments for various fabrication processes while adhering to safety standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements based on operational observations. Qualifications Proven experience operating fabrication machinery such as press brakes, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, stamping presses, and welding equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math. Proficiency in CNC programming and machine setup; familiarity with CNC laser cutting and electrical discharge machining is preferred. Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments for quality assurance. Basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques including forming machines and tooling. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality inspection and measurement accuracy. Strong communication skills for collaborating effectively within the team. This role is essential for maintaining efficient production workflows while ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.
