Job Description

Long Island Based Food Manufacturer seeks Quality Assurance Technicians.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Technician works closely with production staff to ensure that all systems, standards, formulas, and specifications are consistently followed throughout the facility. This role is responsible for monitoring food safety, quality programs, and production documentation to maintain compliance with customer, regulatory, and company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, and production controls. Address food safety, regulatory, customer, and documentation issues with production personnel in a timely manner. Monitor production lines from start to finish to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and production standards. Ensure all plant personnel comply with established procedures and standards. Report any non-compliance immediately to management. Ensure that plant is operating in compliance with all customer and government regulations (USDA, FDA & GFSI). Perform ATP swabbing, pre-operational and post-operational inspections. Review batch records for accuracy and completeness. Perform label control and scanning verification. Serve as a laboratory technician when required. Perform other duties as assigned. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 4 hours at a time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work collaboratively and positively with all levels of staff and customers. Ability to think creatively and apply innovative solutions to challenges.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates in a manufacturing and office environment. Work may involve lifting up to 50 pounds and requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to hard hats, steel-toe and non-slip footwear. Loose-fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted.
