Manager Trainee and Horticulture Lead Technician

Job description: Green Thumb Services is a well-established interiorscape company serving commercial clients throughout Central Pennsylvania. We are seeking a hands-on Interiorscape General Manager Trainee to oversee daily operations, lead our plant care team, assist with plant maintenance, and support the growth of our client base. This role combines operations leadership, plant care expertise, customer relationships, training and maintenance, and light business development. What You'll Do Supervise, schedule, and support a team of plant care technicians Oversee and assist with weekly plant maintenance and service quality at client sites Conduct site visits, troubleshoot plant health issues, and approve plant replacements Serve as the primary point of contact for existing clients Identify opportunities to expand services with current customers Build relationships with prospective clients and respond to inbound leads Conduct site walk-throughs, present service options, and support proposals Assist with onboarding new customers and transitioning them into service Manage plant inventory, ordering, and vendor coordination Support installations, floral and seasonal plant rotations, and holiday décor Deliver plants for replacements and upgrades to sites or technicians Maintain service schedules, records, and basic administrative tasks Coordinate warehouse organization and maintenance of plants and ordering What We're Looking For Experience in interiorscaping, tropical foliage; horticulture, landscaping, or a related field Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred Comfortable speaking with customers and presenting service solutions Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities Strong plant care knowledge and problem-solving skills Willingness to work along side of technician to train and assist with maintenance of larger accounts such as atriums and living walls Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to ~40 lbs What We Offer Salary range: $32,000 (for 32 hrs per week) - $36,000 (for 36 hrs per week) + reimbursement for car mileage for use of your vehicle on the job + one week paid vacation after first year + uncapped commission averaging $300 - $500 per month depending on sales. Job can be near full time or heavy part time for the right person. Same rate regardless. Housing availability is also an option.
