We are looking for someone with natural mechanical ability, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to learn. Sklar Furnishings is a high-end contemporary home furnishings and interior design company in Boca Raton. We are looking for a Furniture Installation & Service Technician / Handyman to join our service and installation team. This is an opportunity to learn a skilled trade while working directly alongside our experienced Service & Installation Lead Technician . You will travel with and assist our Lead Technician at clients' homes, learning how to install, adjust, troubleshoot, repair, and service high-end home furnishings. As your skills and experience develop, there is an opportunity to grow into a more independent technician role and potentially take responsibility for your own service and installation route. What You'll Do Working alongside our Service & Installation Lead Technician, you will learn and assist with: Assembling and installing high-end furniture Installing artwork, mirrors, accessories, and other home furnishings Performing minor furniture repairs and touch-ups Troubleshooting and servicing furniture mechanisms, including motion and reclining furniture Adjusting doors, drawers, hinges, hardware, and furniture components Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively Assisting with furniture installations and service calls Diagnosing problems and helping determine practical solutions Protecting floors, walls, furniture, and other surfaces while working in clients' homes Maintaining a clean and organized work area Providing professional, courteous service in clients' homes Performing other general handyman and installation tasks as needed Most service work will take place throughout Palm Beach County . This position does not require you to use your personal vehicle while performing service calls. No Experience Required We are willing to teach you the technical skills. What we cannot teach is the natural desire to work with your hands, curiosity about how things work, reliability, and pride in doing a job correctly. Lift up to 75 pounds independently Assist with moving and handling heavier furniture with another team member Bend, kneel, reach, climb, and work in different positions Remain active and on their feet throughout much of the workday Safely use common hand and power tools
