Job Summary The Cage Lead is responsible for preparing the delivery cage for next-day deliveries, ensuring accuracy and quality of merchandise loaded on the truck boxes. Leads and directs a team to fill the delivery orders and prepare for shipment.
Job Duties:
Read order tickets, locate and pull correct merchandise for delivery, properly prepare the furniture, carefully inspect the merchandise for damage, double check tickets to ensure all merchandise is pulled, load furniture, and secure furniture for transit. Review each ticket to ensure the merchandise requested on the ticket makes sense. Call the store manager if uncertain. (For example, the ticket indicates a customer ordered a twin bedframe with a queen mattress. Is the order for a queen or twin?) Send damaged furniture to the shop for repair. Unload returned furniture from previous days' delivery route. Direct others to complete tasks timely and efficiently, and maintain a clean, safe, organized workplace. Ability to work independently and with the warehouse management team Ability to safely operate picker, tugger, and forklift. Familiar with computers and ability to learn software programs. Must have excellent attendance.
Job Requirements:
3 years of verified warehouse distribution experience. Detail-oriented to ensure the quality and accuracy of orders pulled. Leadership experience a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back. Prolonged walking and standing - up to 8 hours per day Ability to lift and move at least 100 pounds
Work Environment:
The work environment is a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. Must be able to work Tuesday through Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Mondays as needed during busy season.
