10/08/2026 Job Description Job Description Toolroom Grinder The Toolroom Grinder performs grinding and basic machining operations on precision tooling and metal components. The ideal candidate has toolroom or machining experience, strong measuring skills, and attention to detail. Requirements of the Toolroom Grinder 2-3 years of grinding, machining, toolmaking, or related manufacturing experience. Experience with surface grinding and basic manual milling and turning. Ability to read basic engineering drawings and work instructions. Ability to use micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools. Knowledge of dimensions, squareness, flatness, and surface finish. Responsibilities of the Toolroom Grinder Perform manual and automatic grinding on tooling, blocks, and precision components. Operate surface grinders and related equipment. Grind and square blocks before and after heat treatment. Perform basic manual milling and turning operations. Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment. Select appropriate wheels, tooling, speeds, and feeds. Deburr, clean, and prepare completed parts. Identify quality or equipment issues and report them to the Toolroom Manager. Maintain equipment and a clean, safe work area.
