Full Time / Onsite / 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Company Summary Airtec Corporation is a 4th-generation, family-owned manufacturing company in Detroit, specializing in custom metal fabrication, architectural solutions and industrial products. We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to join our growing team. Overview A powder coat operator starts by preparing metal products for powder coating. Products are hung on the line for powder to be applied and then cured in the oven system. Products are then removed from line and packaged. This is a 40-hour work week. Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm. Overtime available 2:30pm-4:30pm daily and Saturdays 6:00am to 11:00am. Qualifications Experience with powder coat or painting systems is preferred Ability to read/understand instruction sheets describing work required. Must be motivated, punctual and have a team player attitude Mandatory that all duties are performed in conjunction with OSHA and MIOSHA requirements Effective communication skills at all levels Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, and read tape measures, which are provided by
Airtec Physical Demands & Work Environment Environment:
Manufacturing/fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures. All tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided by Airtec Corporation.
Physical Effort:
Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and lifting/moving materials weighing up to 55 lbs.
Collaboration:
Work closely with supervisors and the powder coating team to meet quality and production standards. Responsibilities Maintain regular and punctual attendance Follow established procedures and work instructions; accurately complete all required paperwork and computer entries. Monitor and abide by all safety procedures Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep tools and equipment in good working conditions. Review work for accuracy, neatness and conformance to production guidelines, quality and safety standards Inspect materials prior to powder coating and verify that all finished and painted products are of an acceptable quality before moving to the next stage of the operation Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing more efficient fabrication processes. Bring new ideas and positive support to the current powder coat processes Perform other duties as assigned
