Billet Crane Operator - SDI Steel Dynamics, Inc. - 4.0 Roanoke, VA Job Details 19 hours ago Qualifications Computer literacy High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Subsidiary Steel Dynamics Overview Billet yard crane operators are responsible for loading the reheat furnace charge bed, off-loading the caster pusher table, and loading billets on rail cars and trucks for shipping. Operators will use computers to record heats moved and complete all required paperwork. Operators must coordinate moves and lifts with the two adjacent cranes and assist those cranes when needed. Must be willing and able to train and work in other yard and melt shop cranes. All duties assigned by the supervisor are to be performed in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities Operate computer efficiently. Be able to operate cranes in a safe and efficient manner. Be able to perform daily inspections on the crane, reporting defects and properly rotating and cooling of magnets. Work overtime when required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Must complete/pass an Annual Eye Exam.
