Required; significant overtime available and expected based on production needs Position Summary We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill/Turn Machinist to operate CNC milling and turning equipment in a production manufacturing environment. The machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, selecting and adjusting tooling, loading parts, performing in-process inspections, and producing precision components in accordance with blueprints, work instructions, and production requirements. Monday-Saturday as scheduled Overtime is required. Lots of overtime is available and expected based on production demands. Candidates must be flexible to work extended hours and Saturdays as required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate CNC milling and turning machines to manufacture precision parts according to blueprints, drawings, specifications, and production planners. Perform CNC machine setups, including loading programs, installing tooling, setting tool offsets, and making machine adjustments. Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding devices based on job requirements. Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into CNC equipment. Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to feeds, speeds, offsets, and tooling to maintain part quality. Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and production planning documents. Verify dimensions and tolerances to ensure parts meet customer and engineering specifications. Identify tooling wear, machine issues, and quality concerns and make appropriate adjustments or notify supervision as needed. Maintain, lubricate, clean, and perform basic preventative maintenance on CNC machines and related equipment. Keep work areas, machines, tooling, and equipment clean and organized. Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and production requirements. Complete required production and inspection documentation accurately. Work independently while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and quality standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. 3-6 years of CNC machining or machine shop experience , preferably with both milling and turning. Experience setting up and operating CNC milling and turning equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and machining specifications. Ability to use precision measuring tools and inspection equipment. Strong understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and tool offsets. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating CNC mill/turn or multi-tasking machines . Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc or similar systems. Experience making program edits and offset adjustments at the machine. Experience working with tight tolerances and precision components. Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-precision manufacturing environments. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is performed in a manufacturing/factory environment. Exposure to machining conditions including dirt, heat, grit, sparks, noise, fumes, coolants, and dust. Requires close hand-eye coordination and a high degree of manual dexterity. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, crouch, push, pull, and reach as required. Frequent repetitive use of hands, grasping, and fine motor movements. Ability to operate repetitive foot controls when required. Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds .
