- $20•25/HR #gajobs2026 Job Description This role involves setting up and operating floor-type 5-axis CNC mills to fabricate precision machine parts under general and light supervision.
You will follow detailed instructions on new activities, perform semi-routine setups, and ensure that all machined components meet engineering specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities Set up and operate floor-type 5-axis CNC mills to fabricate machine parts according to engineering blueprints and diagrams. Perform semi-routine setup and fabrication of machined parts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications. Clean machines and maintain a tidy work area to support safe and efficient operations. Deburr parts to remove sharp edges and ensure finished components meet quality requirements. Perform kitting of production tools, fixtures, cutters, and pre-cut raw materials as needed to support production activities. Operate machines and inspect parts using blueprint dimensions, prescribed gauges, and other measuring tools. Monitor and verify product quality in accordance with statistical process control or other established control procedures. Lay out, fabricate, and assemble components as required to support production and tooling needs. Observe all applicable laws, regulations, and company obligations while conducting business activities. Work in a safe manner by following established operating procedures and safety practices at all times. Maintain the flow of work within the unit by coordinating tasks and communicating effectively with team members. Perform other related duties as assigned or required. Essential Skills Experience operating 5-axis mills, including setup and production machining. Ability to perform semi-routine setup and fabrication of machined parts on CNC milling equipment. Good knowledge of machining equipment and processes, including the ability to use sound judgment and safe practices. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and diagrams accurately. Ability to inspect parts using blueprint dimensions and prescribed gauges. Skills to maintain and manage workflow within the production unit. Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with coworkers and supervisors. Good written communication skills for documenting work and communicating within the team. Basic computer skills to support production, documentation, and communication tasks. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Flexibility to work extended hours as required to meet production needs. Commitment to working safely and following established operating procedures and practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CNC milling operations, including setup and operation of 5-axis power mills. Ability to perform kitting of tools, fixtures, cutters, and pre-cut raw materials for production. Experience deburring and finishing machined parts. Familiarity with statistical process control or other quality control procedures. Ability to lay out, fabricate, and assemble components to support production and tooling requirements. Why Work Here? Work Environment You work in a manufacturing and machining environment centered around floor-type 5-axis CNC mills and related machining equipment. The role involves hands-on operation of machinery, handling of tools, fixtures, cutters, and raw materials, as well as regular cleaning and maintenance of machines and work areas. You follow established operating procedures and safety practices, with a strong emphasis on safe work habits and compliance with all applicable regulations. The schedule follows a 9/80 work pattern, providing every other Friday off, and may require extended hours at times to support production demands. You collaborate closely with a production team while also working independently on assigned tasks, using basic computer tools to support daily operations and documentation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.29
