Job Description
Seeking a CNC Machine operator in local Santa Cruz area. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will independently set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce complex, high-tolerance parts. You will interpret blueprints, perform rigorous quality inspections, and ensure all production targets are met safely and efficiently. Objectives Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements. Set up CNC machining equipment, including lathe and milling machines, with appropriate tooling and fixtures. Operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and standard operating procedures. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions. Perform manual machining tasks when necessary to complement CNC operations or make adjustments. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, setups, and inspection results. Troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize productivity. Support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing practices. Requirements Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with expertise in CNC programming Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting complex technical drawings. Strong mechanical knowledge of machining tools, tooling setups, and machine calibration. Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or general CAD/CAM programming tools. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances. Experience with manual machining processes using hand tools, grinders, lathes, and power tools.
