Job Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for machining, fitting, and supporting the build of high-quality injection molds to tight tolerances. You will work closely with the team to maintain quality, meet production timelines, and deliver tooling that meets or exceeds customer requirements. This position is ideal for an experienced CNC machinist who takes pride in precision work and thrives in a collaborative shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, program, and operate Haas 3-axis CNC machining centers to manufacture high-precision injection mold components to tight tolerances. Program and operate Mitsubishi wire EDM machines for precision cutting of mold details, inserts, and complex profiles. Build, modify, and repair high-precision injection molds using CNC machining, wire EDM, and supporting manual equipment. Read and interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, GD&T, and customer specifications to ensure accurate and repeatable machining results. Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies; optimize feeds, speeds, and toolpaths to improve accuracy, surface finish, and cycle time. Perform mold assembly, fitting, spotting, and functional testing to verify proper operation and dimensional integrity. Collaborate with engineering and shop personnel to troubleshoot machining issues and drive continuous process improvements. Maintain Haas CNC machines, Mitsubishi wire EDM equipment, tooling, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in injection mold making. Strong knowledge of Programming on Master Cam. Strong knowledge of mold design, fabrication, and repair processes. Experience with CNC, EDM, and manual machines. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Familiarity with injection molding processes and materials. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training preferred.
