In this position, you will play a key role in the creation of custom-machined components and prototypes. You will be tasked with translating CAD models and technical prints into finished products by managing the full machining lifecycle, which includes process planning, programming, machine setup, and the production of precision parts. Core Responsibilities Manage the programming, configuration, operation, and maintenance of

machinery. Produce low-volume and prototype components by following detailed specifications, CAD files, and technical drawings. Develop comprehensive machining strategies, including determining tool paths, fixturing, and material preparation. Optimize production quality and efficiency by selecting appropriate cutting tools and fine-tuning speed and feed rates. Utilize manual shop tools such as grinders, drill presses, toolroom lathes, and Bridgeport mills to support production needs. Design and adjust necessary jigs, soft jaws, and fixtures to facilitate manufacturing. Verify that all finished parts adhere to strict quality standards and dimensional requirements. Work alongside engineering and manufacturing staff to address technical issues and ensure design intent is achieved. Contribute to a clean, safe work environment while helping the team meet project deadlines. Required Qualifications A minimum of ten years of professional experience within a machine shop environment. Proven expertise in the setup and programming of CNC systems. hardware. Extensive background in manual machining using conventional equipment like toolroom lathes and Bridgeport mills. Advanced skills in interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD documentation. Proven ability to plan setups, select tooling, and design work-holding solutions. Solid understanding of standard CAD software and file formats. Preferred Qualifications Completion of a formal machinist apprenticeship or relevant trade school education. Prior experience in job shop environments, custom equipment manufacturing, or prototype development. Familiarity with tight-tolerance production and CAD/CAM software applications.
