Full Job Description CNC Setup Machinist Location:
Gurnee, IL Pay:
$27/hour
Schedule:
Full-Time | 1st Shift We're looking for a hands-on CNC Setup Machinist who can independently set up, operate, and make programming adjustments to CNC mills and lathes. This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of machining experience who is comfortable working from blueprints, setting up their own machines, and producing quality parts within tight tolerances. What You'll Do Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes Generate new or modify existing G-code programs Determine appropriate speeds, feeds, depth of cut, and tooling for jobs Machine primarily carbon steel and stainless steel components Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications Produce parts to tolerances as tight as +/- .001" Perform machine adjustments and offsets as needed Set up and utilize jigs and fixtures Operate manual machining equipment including manual lathes, Bridgeport mills, and drill presses Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet specifications Identify drawing or machining issues and communicate them to Engineering Maintain CNC equipment, tooling, and a clean work area Assist with raw materials as needed What We're Looking For 2+ years of CNC machining experience Experience setting up and operating your own CNC machines Understanding of G-code and ability to make program adjustments Experience with CNC mills and/or CNC lathes Milltronics experience is preferred, but experience with comparable CNC controls will be considered Strong blueprint reading skills Understanding of speeds, feeds, tooling, and depth of cut Experience machining carbon steel and/or stainless steel Comfortable working with tight tolerances Ability to work independently with limited supervision High school diploma or GED Forklift experience is a plus Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) with company matching Paid time off If you're a CNC Machinist who enjoys setting up your own machines, troubleshooting jobs, and taking a part from blueprint to finished product, we'd love to hear from you.
