Key Responsibilities:
Cellular Machine Setup & Operation:
Independently manage and run multiple CNC machines simultaneously within a lean, cell-based milling and turning production setup.
High-Frequency Changeovers:
Perform 1 to 3 complex setups per dayselecting, installing, and aligning the correct tooling, workholding, attachments, and fixtures.
G/M Code Optimization:
Apply a strong working knowledge of G and M codes to run, navigate, and adjust CNC programs directly at the machine for maximum efficiency.
Blueprint Literacy & GD&T:
Interpret advanced engineering drawings, blueprints, and sample parts daily to establish exact dimensional sequences and tolerances.
Precision QA Inspection:
Utilize high-end measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height stands, pin gauges) to verify surface finishes and hold tight tolerances.
Collaborative Innovation:
Partner with engineering teams and tool vendors to test experimental parts, design custom basic fixtures, and continuously optimize tool life. Position Requirements (What You Bring):
Experience:
3+ years of hands-on CNC setup and operation experience across both milling and turning centers (mills and lathes).
Technical Skillset:
Strong proficiency in reading blueprints, troubleshooting programming lines, and applying standard GD&T concepts.
Machining Math:
Confident calculating precise dimensions and tolerances using decimal/fractional conversions and basic shop trigonometry.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, and reach comfortably for an 8+ hour shift; ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications (A Plus, Not Required):
Prior experience managing multi-machine CNC cells. Familiarity with SolidWorks or CAD/CAM software to reference 3D models and drawings. Experience designing and building basic shop fixtures. How to
