Nesco Resource is hiring 2nd and 3rd shift CNC Machinists for a client located in Lexington, SC. Apply today!
Position Summary:
The Machine Operator / Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC and conventional machining equipment to manufacture precision parts and finished products according to production schedules, engineering drawings, and quality standards. This role supports daily manufacturing operations through machine setup, troubleshooting, inspections, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and conventional machining equipment Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and written instructions Load tooling, offsets, fixtures, and machine programs as required Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and production efficiency Perform first article inspections (FAI) and routine quality checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and production issues as needed Maintain accurate production logs and related documentation Assist with assembly or secondary operations when required Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following 5S and company safety standards Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to meet operational goals Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred Previous CNC machine operation or machining experience preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing specifications Knowledge of machine setup, tooling, feeds, speeds, and offsets Familiarity with CNC programming and conventional machining equipment Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Basic shop mathematics and computer skills preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with strong attention to detail Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs Flexibility to work overtime and alternate shifts as needed
Shift Schedules:
