Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint reading, and measurement instruments will drive efficiency and accuracy on the shop floor. Responsibilities Prepare and set up CNC machining equipment, including lathes and milling machines, ensuring proper calibration and tooling alignment. Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM software to produce complex parts according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining requirements. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions and quality standards. Perform manual machining tasks with hand tools or manual machines when necessary to support CNC operations or prototype development. Troubleshoot machine issues, perform routine maintenance, and make adjustments to optimize performance. Inspect finished parts for conformance to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and ensure adherence to quality control protocols. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing processes. Qualifications Proven experience as a CNC Set Up Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code, along with proficiency in CAM software such as SolidWorks or CAD systems. Skilled in reading mechanical blueprints and understanding mechanical blueprint interpretation. Familiarity with machining tools, grinders, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Mechanical knowledge related to metal machining processes such as CNC milling, CNC lathe operations, manual machining, grinding, and boring. Ability to interpret GD&T specifications accurately for quality assurance purposes. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and machine setup adjustments. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for machine setup or assembly tasks. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control during manufacturing processes. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently.
