STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a Machinist to join the team. This position involves the set-up and operation of conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Job DescriptionEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesStudies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirementsMeasures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machiningSelects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as CNC mills, CNC lathes, and grindersCalculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control mediaStarts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as requiredVerifies conformance of finished work piece to specificationsSets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control dataCompletes first piece inspectionsDevelops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricatedConfers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time.

Other duties may be assigned as needed. QualificationsEducations & CertificationsAssociates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
