The CNC Machinist / CNC Setup Technician performs CNC machine setup, programming, machining, inspection, and precision fabrication of components, tooling, and fixtures. Job Requirements 3-5 years of experience in a similar CNC machining or setup position. High school diploma, equivalent credential, or equivalent work experience. Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls. Experience with CNC machine setup and operation. Knowledge of manual CNC programming, including G-codes and M-codes. Understanding of Virtual Gibbs. Familiarity with DNC system operation. Ability to read blueprints and interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances. Knowledge of mechanical design and dimensioning principles. Understanding of material properties, including expansion rates, strength, hardness, and machining requirements. Experience measuring and inspecting finished workpieces for dimensional conformance. Preferred Skills CNC certification or CNC trade school training. Experience with setup time reduction. Prototyping experience. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, including Just-in-Time practices. Experience machining precision tools and fixtures to tight tolerances and complex geometries. Job Responsibilities Set up CNC production equipment for milling, turning, and related machining operations. Machine and fabricate precision tools, fixtures, and components according to specifications. Program and operate CNC equipment using applicable machine controls and programming methods. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and geometric tolerances. Select machining methods based on material properties and manufacturing requirements. Measure and inspect finished workpieces to verify compliance with specifications. Troubleshoot dimensional or machining issues during production. Support setup time reduction and machining process improvements.
Pay:
