Job Description

CNC Lathe Machinist responsible for setup, programming, operation, inspection, and precision machining of complex components and tooling. Job Requirements High school diploma, equivalent education, or equivalent work experience Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar CNC machining position preferred Training in CNC programming Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes Experience with sub-spindles, live tooling, and Y-axis capability Working knowledge of bar feeders Experience with Okuma and Fanuc controls Understanding of Virtual Gibbs Manual CNC programming experience using G-codes and M-codes Familiarity with DNC systems Experience machining precision components, tools, and fixtures to tight tolerances and complex geometries Ability to read blueprints and interpret geometric tolerances Knowledge of mechanical design and dimensioning principles Experience using and maintaining precision measuring and inspection tools Knowledge of CNC machine operation and programming Preferred Skills CNC certification or CNC trade school training Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles Knowledge of Just-in-Time manufacturing Experience with setup time reduction methods Prototyping experience Experience with multi-tasking turning centers Job Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machines in accordance with inch and metric drawing specifications Perform setups and machining operations on CNC lathes with sub-spindles, live tooling, Y-axis capability, and bar feeders Perform setups on multi-tasking turning centers Program and edit CNC machines using Virtual Gibbs and manual G-code and M-code programming Operate DNC systems as required Machine and fabricate precision tools, fixtures, and components to specified tolerances and geometries Inspect machined components using appropriate measuring tools and inspection devices Maintain measuring tools and inspection equipment used during production Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and geometric requirements Support prototype and precision machining activities
Pay:
