Description Description:
Set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines and/or turning centers to produce precision metallic and nonmetallic parts. Apply knowledge of shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and manufacturing techniques. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, loading and unloading material, setting up machines and tooling, monitoring production runs for quality and safety, performing in-process and final inspections, conducting light maintenance, and keeping production logs.
Qualifications:
Ability to set up and operate CNC mills or CNC lathes (2-4 axis turning centers). Ability to program using G-code or conversational/Quick code. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical specifications, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with Fanuc and Haas controls. Ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments to ensure part accuracy and efficient production. Working knowledge of Mastercam preferred.
Duties:
Interpret blueprints, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Identify company and drawing number, revision level, tolerances, and interpret bills of material; identify correct materials, sizes, hole counts and depths, and thread callouts. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material. Calculate and set controls to regulate speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit machine control programs. Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust controls as required. Verify dimensions of finished parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, gauge blocks, and gauge pins. Properly deburr edges and holes; protect parts from damage during the run and subsequent operations. Maintain equipment in good working order and organize tooling and fixtures using lean principles. Collaborate with department leads, supervisors, and management to troubleshoot and report equipment issues promptly. Other duties as assigned. Additional Details How To Identify Potential Job Scams
