Manufacturing Reports to: Manager Job Summary Under direct supervision of the Manager, this position sets up and operates Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Multi Axis Lathes with live tooling to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. Essential Function Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and set up requirements. Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on materials as guides for subsequent machining. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit CNC control panel. Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as lathes, grinders, jig borers, and shapers. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out- of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media panel as required. Verifies conformance of finished work piece to correct specifications. Sets up and operates machine on trial runs to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers to resolve machining issues. Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion. Job Requirements and Qualifications Must have own tools. Must have 3-5 years experince with multi axis lathes with live tooling Must be able to perform unsupervised set ups Prefer experience with Fanuc Controls Prefer experience with Doosan and Mori Seike Machines Must have a good working knowledge in general shop mathematics. Lifting objects in excess of 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing 25 pounds or more. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge. Other Skills/Abilities Proactively anticipate problems and suggest alternatives May train less experienced personnel Digital Height Gauge CMM experience a plus Mastercam software knowledge a plus

High School Diploma, some college preferred

$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
