Packaging Lead

Position Description:

Job Summary The Packaging Lead oversees daily operations within the packaging room to ensure all flower products are packaged in accordance with the quality standards of Sunburn Cannabis. This role is responsible for maintaining workflow efficiency, keeping the team on schedule, and ensuring all processes are executed accurately and consistently. ________________________________________ Job Functions The Packaging Lead's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead and oversee a team of packaging technicians to ensure daily production goals are met Train employees on packaging procedures, quality standards, and SOPs Monitor employee performance and document individual throughput metrics Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency and productivity Ensure all packaging activities are completed in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements Oversee and maintain accurate data entry and inventory tracking within Biotrack Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance needs or issues promptly Maintain organization, cleanliness, and compliance within the packaging room Ensure proper use of materials, labeling accuracy, and packaging consistency Communicate daily priorities, expectations, and updates to the team Assist in troubleshooting workflow or personnel issues to minimize downtime Support leadership with reporting, process improvements, and operational planning ________________________________________ Competencies Strong leadership and team management skills Communication proficiency Time management and organizational skills Attention to detail and accuracy Problem-solving and decision-making ability Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment Proficiency with Biotrack or similar seed-to-sale systems Self-motivated, dependable, and results-driven Collaborative team player with a positive attitude ________________________________________ Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Basic math and data entry skills Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks Ability to work in a production environment with adherence to safety protocols ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in packaging, manufacturing, or cannabis production Experience in a leadership or lead role Familiarity with cannabis compliance and regulatory standards Experience with seed-to-sale systems (e.g., Biotrack) Strong understanding of production workflows and efficiency metrics
