Job Description
Production Associate | Machine Operator Job Description This role focuses on assembling and inspecting plastic immediately after they come off the rotational mold. You will use a variety of hand and power tools to clean, finish, and prepare parts while following detailed work orders and repeatable processes. Quality is central to every task, and you will perform leak inspections and other checks to ensure each product meets established standards before it moves to the next stage of production. Responsibilities Assemble and inspect plastic directly off the rotational mold. Use hand and power tools, including knives, hammers, portable drills, handheld routers, and pneumatic tools, to finish and prepare parts. Read and follow written work orders accurately on a daily basis. Follow established, repeatable processes to ensure consistent quality and output. Clean, strip, and remove defects from parts coming out of the mold. Perform dunk tests on fuel tanks to inspect for leaks and document any issues. Operate production and machine equipment safely and efficiently as needed. Measure and verify parts using basic measuring tools, such as tape measures, to confirm specifications. Package and prepare finished parts for the next stage of production or shipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and quality guidelines. Work collaboratively with production team members to meet daily and weekly production goals. Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. Essential Skills At least 6 months of experience working in a manufacturing facility. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Proficiency with hand and power tools, including drills and similar equipment. Ability to use knives, hammers, portable drills, handheld routers, and pneumatic tools safely and effectively. Capability to read and follow written work orders and documented processes. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality in every task. Comfort working in a production environment with repetitive tasks and processes. Reliable work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in assembly, production, or general labor roles in a manufacturing setting. Background in machine operation or machine operating in a production environment. Familiarity with basic construction or fabrication tasks. Ability to use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools accurately. Experience with packaging and packing finished products. Demonstrated ability to adapt and succeed even with limited prior manufacturing experience. Openness to overtime and weekend work based on customer demand. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a non-climate-controlled production facility, where you will work around rotational molding equipment and other manufacturing machinery. The role is on 2nd shift or 3rd shift, Monday through Friday, with weekend work as needed based on customer demand. Overtime is offered as needed, with total hours potentially reaching around 50 per week when demand is high. The dress code allows shorts and short-sleeve shirts, and steel-toe footwear is required. Safety glasses, safety vests, and hearing protection are provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Liberty, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
