Illinois Position Summary The Mixing & Extrusion Production Associate is responsible for operating mixing, extrusion, and lamination equipment to manufacture hydrocolloid products in accordance with established quality standards, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). This position supports manufacturing operations by preparing materials, operating equipment, documenting production activities, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Follow all production procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Accurately mix hydrocolloid ingredients into cohesive production batches. Manually load raw materials into mixing equipment according to approved manufacturing formulas. Operate mixing, extrusion, and lamination equipment to produce materials that meet quality specifications. Monitor equipment performance and report operational issues to appropriate personnel. Record lot numbers, production data, ingredient weights, and other required documentation accurately and completely. Retrieve raw materials and production supplies from warehouse storage areas. Move materials and finished goods in accordance with company procedures. Maintain work areas, equipment, and materials in a clean, organized, and sanitary condition. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety policies, and quality standards. Conduct basic equipment cleaning and routine maintenance as assigned. Assist with setup, changeovers, and production line preparation. Support training efforts for new production team members as requested. Operate additional manufacturing equipment as needed to support production goals. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and maintain productivity standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions and SOPs. Basic math skills, including the ability to weigh and measure materials accurately. Ability to accurately complete production documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Previous manufacturing, production, machine operation, mixing, extrusion, or lamination experience. Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment, including medical device, pharmaceutical, food, or consumer products manufacturing. Forklift certification or experience is a plus. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift. Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, and stooping. Use hands and fingers to operate machinery, tools, and controls. Ability to safely work around moving mechanical parts. Vision and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation, sufficient to safely perform job duties. Work Environment Manufacturing and production environment.
