Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Experienced extrusion operators are sought to fill night positions at our Hiawatha Extrusion Center. Experience is a requirement to apply. Safely and efficiently operate the extrusion system, the dryer, cooler, and transfer system to ensure product compliance to company and customer standards. Daily start up, shut down, and clean-up of the extrusion operation which includes: monitoring product, performing quality audits, polishing tanks and extruder, monitoring tank levels, servicing the mix platform, and keeping the extruder area clean and orderly. Strict adherence to and understanding of both the FDA-GMPs and the SQF standards as they relate to the manufacturing areas in order to ensure that the program is being properly executed. Detailed training will be required of this position as there will be several of our facility's CCP (Critical Control Points) that incorporate directly with the duties of this position. Safely and efficiently work your shift as scheduled each week. Communicate with co-workers, supervisor, and plant manager daily.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Daily lifting of product and boxes ranging from 1 pound to 50 pounds from table level to floor and above head as often as once every approximately 15 minutes.
  • Walking and standing required. Climbing up and down ladders or stairs required. Must be able to continually bend and stoop for length of shift.
  • Must be able to work in an environment where the indoor temperature ranges from 80 to 100 degrees F in summer and 50-65 degrees F in winter.
  • Pay will be determined by the level of experience in this specific field
