Hourly Pay Range:
$21/hr- $25/hr

The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be based upon various factors unique to each individual that may include, but are not limited to years of experience, industry knowledge, technical skills, education, qualifications, etc.Responsibilities Slitter Operator Responsibilities:
Work independently and as part of a team with safety as the number one priority. Properly follow all company and OSHA safety procedures and report concerns to the Supervisor, Safety, or HR. Perform routine inspections of the work area to ensure proper housekeeping. Check the WFS computer for order priorities, locate material, and notify logistics when material is ready for loading onto the machine. Using the CamB computer program and WFS priorities, build set-ups as required for current and future production orders. Check samples using the MMS computer in the QC Lab. Operate and monitor slitting and winding equipment. Collect a second set of samples at the end of each coil and verify using the MMS computer in the QC Lab. Clear the machine of scrap material and install the next set-up onto the slitter arbor. Interrupt machine operation if a safety, quality, or mechanical issue arises. Ability to safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks (motorized and manual). Crosstrain in other areas of the Finishing Department as needed. Maintain 5S standards and support continuous improvement efforts. Ensure a safe and environmentally responsible workplace in accordance with applicable regulations. Reduce scrap by monitoring material quality and equipment performance. Work with other departments to continuously improve quality, machine uptime, efficiency, and productivity. Review WFS orders and priorities, locate materials, and load the correct coils onto the machine. Retrieve and apply the correct machine parameters using the winder database and program equipment accordingly. Run material through the machine onto reels and weld the end of one coil to the beginning of the next as required. Remove completed reels and prepare the machine for the next job, including installing empty reels.Slitter Operator Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in heavy metals or similar manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to maintain the production schedule and meet throughput, yield, and scrap goals. Ability to monitor material quality, including flatness, gauge, hardness, grain size, and surface finish. Ensure proper identification of coils and samples. Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other testing equipment. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a positive attitude.Physical Demands:

Vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment. Use hands and fingers to handle, touch, or manipulate items. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
