1st Shift | Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM About the Opportunity We are hiring an experienced Injection Mold Maker for a manufacturing company in Fitchburg, MA. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong hands-on experience building, repairing, and troubleshooting plastic injection molds. You will work with a skilled manufacturing team to ensure molds meet quality standards, operate properly, and support production. What You'll Do Build, assemble, repair, and troubleshoot plastic injection molds. Perform mold maintenance, refurbishments, and engineering changes. Machine mold components using manual and CNC equipment. Operate mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM equipment. Inspect components and verify tight tolerances. Work with cores, cavities, slides, lifters, ejector systems, and cooling circuits. Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD prints. Assemble and test molds to ensure proper fit and function. Troubleshoot tooling issues and improve mold performance. Work with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams. Document repairs, inspections, and tooling modifications. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mold-making experience in a plastic injection molding environment. Experience building, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting injection molds. Strong understanding of mold construction and function. Experience operating manual and CNC milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, and EDM equipment. Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD-generated prints. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail. High school diploma or GED required. Ability to read and understand instructions in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical trade school certification or apprenticeship training. Experience with SolidWorks, Mastercam, or similar CAD/CAM software. Experience in medical device or other highly regulated manufacturing. Knowledge of mold design, manufacturability, and tooling optimization. Experience working with tight-tolerance precision tooling.
