Responsibilities:

This position provides support to tooling and will be required to have the ability to repair injection molds, including damaged and those in need of repair due to the normal wear. Responsibilities will include construction of fixtures and other devices for milling, drilling and other post molding finishing operations. This position follows and complies with safety procedures and requirements and must be able to modify injection molds to enhance performance. This will include gate and runner modifications of changes. This role requires 5+ years of existing tooling repair in plastic injection molding.

This role:

Supports and works closely with the personnel assigned to production to keep molds operating at an acceptable level of efficiency. Must be able to modify injection molds to enhance performance. This will include gate and runner modifications of changes. Construction of fixtures and other devices for milling, drilling and other post molding finishing operations. Required to assist in the design and construction of end or arm tooling for robots and sprue pickers. Required to repair injection molds, including damaged and those in need of repair due to normal wear. Complies with quality procedures. Follows and complies with safety procedures and requirements. Qualifications 5+ years in previous tooling repair or equivalent position, specifically in plastic injection molding. Must have completed Mold Maker Apprenticeship program or equivalent (Mold Repair/Construction). Strong mechanical aptitude with an interest in plastics injection molding technology and tooling processes. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining safety standards in a manufacturing environment. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills and techniques related to manual machining, and toolroom operations. Excellent attendance is required and must be available to be called-in for short notive ovetime to help fix or repair broken tools. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record Must have knowledge on operating a powered industrial truck and overhead crane. Must have high school diploma or GED.

Physical Demands:

Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50#.
