Mixer / Scaler Job Description This role involves accurately measuring, scaling, and repackaging bulk food ingredients into smaller batches, as well as supporting mixing operations in a manufacturing environment. You will follow written instructions, handle heavy materials throughout your shift, and help ensure consistent product quality and safe production processes. Responsibilities Follow detailed written instructions to measure, scale, and batch large quantities of product into smaller, accurately weighed portions. Repackage bulk ingredients into smaller containers while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and product integrity. Read and interpret production formulas and instructions to add the correct type and amount of ingredients to make batter and other mixtures. Operate or learn to operate mixing machines once proficient in scaling and batching tasks. Lift and move bags, containers, and other materials weighing 50 to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. Maintain a clean and safe work area by following facility hygiene and safety procedures. Work effectively as part of a production team of 10 or more people in mixing and scaling. Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and maintain reliable attendance, especially during the temporary assignment period. Use provided timekeeping tools accurately to record hours worked. Essential Skills Experience in mixing, scaling, or batching within a production or manufacturing environment (preferred). Strong basic math skills to accurately measure, weigh, and scale ingredients. Prior production or manufacturing experience, particularly in a food-related environment. Ability to read and follow written instructions and production formulas. Capability to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. Reliability and punctuality, with a strong commitment to consistent attendance. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment with 10 or more colleagues in mixing and scaling. No specific education required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Willingness to be trained on mixing machines after demonstrating proficiency in scaling and batching. Comfort working with food products and in a production setting. Attention to detail to ensure correct ingredient measurements and adherence to recipes. Flexibility to work various shifts, including 1st, and 3rd shifts as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing facility focused on food production, working within a mixing and scaling team of 10 or more people. Some related roles in material control and packaging may operate on similar schedules, with occasional variations in start times. The work involves standing for most of the shift, repeatedly lifting 50 to 75 pounds, and handling bulk ingredients and containers. The environment follows strict safety and cleanliness standards. You will receive scrubs to wear over your street clothes and must wear a clean t-shirt, jeans, and non-slip, oil-resistant shoes. Punctuality and consistent attendance are essential, especially during the temporary assignment period. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reading, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
