Star Foundry and Machine is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Furnace Operator to support metal melting operations. This hands-on role focuses on operating and monitoring electric induction furnaces used to melt iron and steel metals. What You Will Do Operate induction electric furnaces used to melt ferrous and non-ferrous metals Perform minor equipment maintenance and support routine operational upkeep Record before and after weights of material lots processed through the equipment Review startup checklists to ensure equipment and systems are operating properly Record operational temperatures hourly and maintain accurate logs Safely pour molten metal into molds or ingots and prepare samples for laboratory analysis Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with procedures Observe equipment during operation to identify irregularities or malfunctions Assist with general housekeeping and operational support activities as needed What You Bring High school diploma or GED required Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Team oriented with strong communication skills Proven commitment to safety and adherence to operating procedures Reliable transportation required due to limited public transportation access Physical Requirements Ability to exert physical effort handling materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds throughout the workday Ability to work in industrial conditions including exposure to dirt, odors, noise, heat, and weather extremes Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around industrial equipment for extended periods

Pay:

$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
