Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Sand Plant Operator to oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and quality control functions of a sand classification plant and related equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient production, monitoring equipment performance, performing preventative maintenance, and maintaining product quality standards. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, experience operating industrial equipment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced mining environment. Candidates must be willing to work extended hours, rotating shifts, and weekends as business demands require. Key Responsibilities Safely operate and monitor the Sand Classification Plant and associated equipment. Promote and follow company Core Values of Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Maintain consistent communication with supervisors and team members regarding plant operations. Monitor production processes to maximize efficiency and ensure quality standards are met. Conduct routine inspections and assist with preventative maintenance activities. Identify equipment issues and report defects or repair needs to management. Perform quality control testing and inspections of products. Obtain DOT certification for product sampling and testing and accurately enter results into the AGG.QC database. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all safety, environmental, and security procedures. Complete additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance experience. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Preferred Two (2) years of experience operating a sand plant, aggregate plant, or similar industrial equipment. Trade school or technical education. Preventative maintenance experience. Welding and torch-cutting experience. Experience performing quality control testing and documentation. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of sand plant operations, maintenance procedures, and equipment repair. Ability to identify potential mechanical issues through observation and equipment performance. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools. Basic computer skills, including email communication and data entry. Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to establish positive working relationships with coworkers, contractors, and management. Physical Requirements Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in physically demanding conditions throughout the shift. Ability to climb ladders and stairways up to approximately 30 feet in height. Ability to work extended shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Must possess adequate vision and depth perception to safely operate equipment and perform inspections. Work Environment Work is performed both outdoors and indoors, including control rooms and quality control labs. Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, heat, humidity, moisture, dust, noise, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment. Frequent work around water and industrial machinery. Required PPE includes steel-toe boots, safety vest, safety glasses, hard hat, and any additional protective equipment as required.
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
Competitive pay based on experience. Shift differential available for night and weekend shifts.
