Position Summary The Foreman / Lead is responsible for overseeing daily field operations on industrial construction projects, compressor stations, meter stations, regulator stations, gas distribution systems, utility relocations, and related infrastructure. This position provides direct supervision of field crews, coordinates construction activities, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and supports the successful completion of projects on schedule and within budget. The Foreman / Lead serves as the primary field leader and is responsible for promoting a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence. Locations vary by job-TBD Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct and supervise daily activities of construction crews. Plan, assign, and coordinate work activities to ensure efficient project execution. Lead crews perform excavation, grading, utility work, mechanical installation, and site restoration. Review project drawings, specifications, and work plans to ensure proper execution of work. Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities. Monitor task and adjust resources as necessary to meet project schedules. Ensure all work is performed according to project specifications, company standards, and client requirements. Conduct daily job site inspections to verify quality and compliance. Communicate project updates, delays, and resource needs to management. Document for daily reports including manpower, equipment utilization, and work completed. Coordinate inspections, testing, and project turnover activities. Support project startup and closeout activities. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving field issues and conflicts. Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and company assets. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all job sites. All other duties as assigned Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 5 years of heavy construction experience. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or crew lead experience. Strong working knowledge of industrial construction practices and underground utility installation. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and utility maps. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to pass pre-employment and client-required screenings. Preferred Experience with natural gas transmission and distribution systems. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification. Qualified Competent Person Training. First Aid/CPR Certification. Experience operating construction equipment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong leadership and crew management skills. Thorough understanding of natural gas construction methods and safety practices. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to communicate effectively with crews, customers, inspectors, and management. Strong understanding of productivity tracking and project execution. Ability to motivate teams and maintain high morale under demanding schedules. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to access trenches, excavations, structures, and elevated work areas. Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, FR clothing, high-visibility apparel, and steel-toed boots. Work Environment Industrial construction sites, oil and gas facilities, compressor stations, pipelines, utility projects, and manufacturing facilities. Exposure to heavy equipment, moving machinery, noise, dust, vibration, and changing weather conditions. Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility, teamwork, and adaptability. Overtime, weekends, night shifts, and extended work schedules may be required. Frequent out-of-town work and travel are required. Employees should expect assignments at various project locations and may be required to stay overnight or work away from home for extended periods depending on project needs.
