Job Summary:
Responsible for accurate file preparation, ensuring that all files meet the specified requirements and client proofs.
Job Description:
Examine client electronic files if natives provided to predetermine potential problems before the files reach the prepress department. When problems are found, instruct the CSR to contact the client and inform them of the problem.
Check files for:
Size, bleeds. Verify if the fonts are there and load into UTC, notify CSR of any low-resolution graphics furnished on photos. Run all client documents to lasers. Download files requested by clients from FTP/Web browsers/DVD's. All electronic rerun files pulled from archives are completed by Preflight. Respond to questions for EPP staff and clients. Maintain the internal SharePoint site for Prepress. Contribute to safety goals by maintaining a clean, clutter-free workplace, report potentially unsafe conditions and ensure that the department meets and exceeds safety requirements. Meet productivity and quality standards by completing work in a timely and accurate manner. Work overtime as needed. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION
High school diploma or equivalent. Five plus years of experience in an electronic pre-press environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION
Five plus years of experience working in printing or manufacturing. Five plus years of experience with Color Management Extensive skills with Apogee, Metrix, Phoenix Ability to continue to learn and use new graphics software on an ongoing basis. Vocational/technical school or college degree in electronic prepress and/or equivalent experience Extensive knowledge and demonstrated skills in all production processes related to electronic pre-press activities, including software, hardware, equipment, and materials. Apogee, Metrix, and Pitstop software knowledge Image retouching and color correction knowledge
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Basic computer skills including email, basic mouse, keyboard, and menu navigation. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurement. Basic color management skills with the ability to work in different digital file formats. Demonstrated ability to use problem-solving skills effectively.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent sitting for prolonged periods of time Ability to visually inspect all work for defects.
