Job Summary:

This role is responsible for leading production teams on shift, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the finishing equipment and maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, and workflow consistency in a five-plus-day per week, unionized environment. The Finishing Supervisor works closely with all other production areas including, Dyeing, Printing and Inspection, and reports directly to the Director of Operations. Key Responsibilities Execute daily operations plans, ensuring throughput, quality, and delivery targets are achieved. Enforce all safety policies and procedures, promoting a strong culture of safety and accountability. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, quality, downtime, and labor efficiency. Identify and implement corrective actions as needed. Troubleshoot process and equipment issues in collaboration with maintenance, quality, and other support teams. Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and collective bargaining agreements. Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members to support skill development and operational excellence. Support positive labor relations, working constructively with union representatives and adhering to established agreements. Manage shift staffing, scheduling, and overtime to meet production requirements. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean principles and problem-solving tools to enhance processes and reduce waste. Maintain accurate shift records, including productions reports, downtime logs, and safety documentation. Qualifications & Skills 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing (textiles preferred) or equivalent combination of work experience and education. Requires strong working knowledge of textile finishing processes (i.e. heat setting, calendaring, chemical finishing). Demonstrated leadership experience in a unionized production environment. Solid understanding of production planning, process control, and quality systems. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management systems (e.g., ERP, MES). Why Join Us?
