Job Description
Description Monday thru Friday 4:45pm to 1:15am The Color Press Operator is a highly active and motivated individual who is responsible for quickly and adequately producing detailed, high-quality printed materials in a time sensitive atmosphere utilizing high speed digital printers. Color Press Operators may change many variables in the printing press set-up, such as dimension, color or contrast, paper stock, and ink cartridges. Often, successful digital print operators must self-manage as they have numerous printing projects going at the same time and create schedules to reflect these various deadlines. In addition, operators may also need to play the role of a digital press technician if maintenance on one of the machines is required. Color Press Operators must know about image resolution, file formats, fonts, and color space (CMYK cyan, magenta, yellow, black, and RGB red, green, and blue). Key Responsibilities Read and comprehend the general job instructions (QA Checklist), which may include: job Instruction, special Instructions, and change orders Setup and format all NexPress or Indigo documents Ensure jobs are within quality standards Perform start of shift preventative maintenance and color verification tests Move/update jobs to next step of Production Workflow Troubleshoot and perform light maintenance on equipment (as needed) Load paper stock in machines (as needed) Other duties as assigned Skills Knowledge and Expertise High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required) Must be dependable, flexible and have the ability to work overtime with little or no notice (required) Moderate computer experience (required) Patience and focus with high attention to detail (required) Comfortable working with machinery and performing maintenance (required) Ability to accurately read and interpret measurements on a ruler or tape measure (preferred) Previous experience using machinery in a professional setting (preferred) Exposure to
